With machine stopped at end of cycle and with the top cylinder raised by pneumatic system, an open flipping ring goes around needles of bottom cylinder. By means of special transferred hooks equal to the needles number, last course of loops is transferred from the bottom cylinder to the ring. The two semirings extract the reversed sock from the cylinder area, the top cylinder lowers down and machine starts to knit next socks. One of the two semi-rings flips overtransferring the knitted loops into the other semi-ring. Consequently each hook holds two opposite loops. Loops are then transferred into a small cylinder with 180° special pins and, by means of a special linking head, a needle by needle linking operation is performed.
